Casita Brett & Susan

Casa de Tierra collaborated with Brett & Susan on building their earthbag casita on the sands of Playa Marsella. They were hands-on throughout the whole project, designing the space and injecting their individual style and aesthetic.

Their lovely two-bedroom casita features a load-bearing earthbag wall system that carries a roof of eucalyptus beams and palm fronds. The loft was laid with tongue & groove Nispero wood, and the main floor features local stone. The interior bamboo walls and the exterior earthbag walls were plastered with an earthen and a cement/lime mix.
